What You Need For Easy Big Mac Sauce with Greek Yogurt
Greek Yogurt: provides a creamy base and adds a protein boost, enhancing the sauce’s texture and making it even more satisfying.
Mayo: You don’t have to add the mayo, but I love adding a bit in. It adds richness and creaminess, balancing the tanginess of the yogurt and other ingredients.
Ketchup: contributes sweetness and depth of flavor, essential for achieving that signature Big Mac Sauce taste!
Yellow Mustard: adds a tangy kick and helps balance the flavors in the sauce.
Pickle Juice & Diced Pickles: provide acidity and a hint of tanginess, elevating the overall flavor profile and adding a refreshing crunch.
How To Make Easy Big Mac Sauce with Greek Yogurt
To a sealable jar or storage container add the yogurt, mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, pickle juice, pickles, salt and pepper. Whisk to combine.
Serve right away with burgers, tacos, or salad bowls, or store in the fridge up to 5 days. Enjoy!
Mistakes and Fixes
Too Thick: If the sauce is too thick, add a small amount of pickle juice or water, a little at a time, until it reaches your desired consistency.
Too Thin: If the sauce is too thin, add a bit more Greek yogurt or mayonnaise to thicken it up to your liking.
Balancing Tanginess: If it’s too tangy, add a dash more ketchup. This will sweeten it up a bit. If you prefer a bit more tang, add more mustard or pickle juice.
Nutritional Benefits (Nutrition by Addition)
Before I jump into the nutrition benefits of this Greek yogurt Big Mac Sauce, I want to talk about the philosophy of nutrition by addition. If you’ve ever wondered how intuitive eating and nutrition can work together, this is it. And it’s an absolute game changer for my Make Food Feel Good clients. If you’ve been reading my blog for a while, you’ll know I’m a huge fan of this philosophy focusing on what you can add to your plate versus what to cut out.
Often I talk about it in regards to an ingredient, like adding Greek yogurt to potato salad dressing, or to kick up the satisfaction factor of this reader fave whipped greek yogurt chocolate mousse.
But an important note on this—do not let it be another “diet rule”. Yes, it can feel amazing to add a boost of nutrition to your favorite meals or snacks, AND, it’s ok when you don’t feel like it.
Intuitive eating is all about considering what would taste good, feel good, and be satisfying in that moment, and there are no hard and fast rules about that!
For this recipe I wanted to try it out with Greek yogurt and here are some of the highlights!
Greek Yogurt: A powerhouse combo of protein, calcium, and probiotics, Greek yogurt supports muscle repair, bone health, and gut health. Why I love it in this recipe is that it provides a super creamy base, just like the original PLUS an extra dose of protein (almost 25 grams of cup). Additionally, you’ll get a little boost of probiotics and calcium, which we know is integral to bone health.
Recipe, Kitchen, & Time Saving Hacks
Prep Ahead: Make a batch of Big Mac Sauce ahead of time and store it in the fridge for up to 5 days. It’s perfect for quick meal prep or last-minute gatherings.
Customize Flavors: Adjust the tanginess by adding more mustard or sweetness with extra ketchup. Tailor the sauce to suit your taste preferences.
Versatile Usage: Use this sauce not only for burgers but also as a dip for fries, a topping for baked potatoes, or even as a dressing for salads and salad bowls!
Easy Clean-Up: Use a sealable jar or storage container with a lid for mixing and storing the sauce. It saves dishes and keeps the sauce fresh.

Hi Lindsay! What would you recommend as a dairy free alternative to the Greek yogurt? Do you think the sauce would still work if I omitted the yogurt all together? Thanks for another yummy recipe!!
Hi Isha! I wouldn’t recommend omitting it altogether as it definitely contributes to the overall texture and balance of flavor. You could definitely try it with a dairy-free yogurt! It likely won’t be quite as thick but should work as a substitute! Let me know how it turns out if you try it out!
