High Protein Cottage Cheese Ranch Dip (3 Ingredients)
This cottage cheese ranch dip is a high-protein twist on a classic, blending creamy cottage cheese with ready to go ranch seasoning for that crave-worthy dip texture. With almost 35 grams of protein per cup, the cottage cheese in this recipe makes a more filling and satisfying dip, perfect for salads, wraps or veggies, making it a versatile addition to your weekly meal prep!

Ranch lovers, this one’s for you. This creamy, protein-packed dip tastes like the ranch you know and love (with a nourishing twist that actually keeps you full).
So what is the deal with protein these days? Protein is having a moment. And while some of it leans a little diet-y—like we must turn everything into a protein version—I want to offer a different perspective.
As a dietitian, I see protein as one of the essential macronutrients (along with carbs and fat). It helps build and repair muscle, supports countless functions in the body, balances blood sugar, and helps us stay full longer after eating.
So yes, I love sneaking extra protein into recipes—like my cottage cheese pancakes, creamy cottage cheese mac and cheese, or my peanut butter chocolate overnight oats that taste like dessert. But I’m also all in for the real-deal pancakes, boxed mac, and full-fat cheese when that’s what I’m craving.
It’s all about intention. If you want a dip that’s a little more satisfying and gives you steady energy through the day? This one fits the bill. If you’re craving regular ranch, go for it. There’s no right or wrong—just what feels best in your body right now.
Ok, now that we’ve got that clear, let’s talk about this satisfying beauty of a dip!

Here’s What We’re Working With
Cottage Cheese: Cottage cheese works so well as a base for this dip. It is thick, creamy and salty and I love the boost of protein it adds to this recipe.
Greek yogurt: I know ranch is usually made with mayo but I really like this recipe with Greek yogurt. It smooths out the texture of the dip and adds a bit of that classic Ranch tang. I use 2-5% for a bit of added fat which further contributes to a smoother finish, and bonus – it helps us feel more satisfied after eating!
Ranch seasoning: I tried many iterations of this dip. Originally starting with adding in my own herbs and spices, but I just couldn’t quite land the authentic ranch flavor I was after! Sometimes the simpliest way is the answer and in the end I went with good ol’ packaged ranch seasoning. I also love that the seasoning blend is done for you! No buying or pulling out multiple different spice packages.
Optional: Lemon Juice or vinegar: To make this into a ranch salad dressing instead of a dip, just add about 1 tablespoon of acid, like lemon juice or vinegar! You can also add a splash of water to thin it out to your desired consistency!
How to Make Cottage Cheese Ranch Dressing

Blend Ingredients: Add the cottage cheese, Greek yogurt, and ranch seasoning to a high-powered blender or food processor.

Blend Until Smooth: Blend on HIGH until the mixture is completely smooth and all lumps are gone. Salt to taste if needed.

Serve and Enjoy: Use as a salad dressing, spread for sandwiches or wraps, or as a dip for crackers, chips or veggies.
Meal prep pro tip: If you love having dips and dressings on hand, double this recipe and use it in different meals throughout the week. This dressing stores well in the fridge for up to a week, so you can make it ahead for easy access all week long.

I’m so glad you like it even with cottage cheese not being your favorite Andrea! The added protein is great for added fullness too! Here’s an estimate for you per 1/4 cup: 65 cals, 8 grams protein, 2 grams fat, 3.5 grams carbs I hope that helps!
