jalap dip1

I love this dip, it is so fresh and I love the kick from the jalapeño. If you’re not a fan of spice you can just leave it out or remove the seed for a much milder spice. It is so simple to make and goes with just about anything!

When I say I eat this on everything, I really mean it. It goes great with everything from your morning toast or bagel to a fresh addition to an appy spread, or my favorite, with a nice charcuterie platter :). It’s also a nice change to mix things up as a veggie dip for a more interesting snack, and can even be used as a creamy salad dressing.

By adding the Greek yogurt, you get that bit of extra protein that will keep you fueled longer. The combination of the protein with the healthy fats from the avocado makes it the perfect satisfying treat and a bonus, with all that goodness, you can eat it everyday.

Enjoy!

Description

Like guac’s higher protein cousin, this fresh and zippy dip is great with crackers, veggies or slatheres on your favorite tacos!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 large avocado ( or 2 small ones)
  • 1/3 cup of 0% plain Greek yogurt
  • 1/31/2 of a jalapeño, minced (depending on your spice level, remove seeds if you prefer a milder spice)
  • pinch of salt taste (start with 1/8 tsp and add more as needed)

Instructions

  1. Add the avocado to a medium sized bowl, mash with the back of a fork until smooth
  2. Add remaining ingredients and stir until well combined. Add more salt or jalapeño to taste if desired.
  3. Serve with toast, crackers or vegetables. Enjoy!

Notes

This dip is also great with additional add-ins, try lemon or lime, cilantro or even corn with a bit of feta cheese if you’d like something with more depth.
