Insanely Delicious Mango Frozen Greek Yogurt
This frozen Greek yogurt is so insanely delicious and easy to make! With just 4 simple ingredients, including protein-packed Greek yogurt and vitamin C rich mangoes, it blends into a creamy, smooth frozen snack or dessert. With only five minutes of prep and a few hours in the freezer, it’s the perfect option to make this classic favorite at home! Swap in your favorite frozen fruits for endless variations!
As an intuitive eating dietitian, I’m all about enjoying a variety of foods without labels or restrictions. Don’t get me wrong, I love a good scoop of ice cream (cookies and cream is my faave!)…and I also really enjoy the creamy, refreshing goodness of frozen Greek yogurt made with these super nourishing ingredients! It’s not either/or, that’s the beauty of having true freedom with food.
I’d personally recommend having a batch of each in the freezer at all times during these hot summer months ;).
So let’s talk about this homemade frozen yogurt. The texture is perfection. It turned out even better than I could have imagined. It is thick, smooth and lusciously creamy (I don’t even know if that’s a word, but if it is, it captures it perfectly!). And the combo of the sweet mango and refreshing lime juice makes it the most perfect snack or dessert for these hot summer days!
Using just 4 simple ingredients and a food processor, you can whip up this refreshing homemade frozen yogurt in under 5 minutes. You can totally eat it as is, but I like to pop it in the freezer for a few hours to get more of a scoopable texture.
As a little nutritional bonus, Greek yogurt, packed with about 25 grams of protein per cup, makes a creamy and satisfying base. Plus, mangoes add a burst of tropical flavor and are rich in antioxidant vitamins A and C.
While this recipe features frozen mango, feel free to swap in any frozen fruit you love—blueberries, strawberries, or raspberries would work perfectly!

What You Need For Mango Frozen Greek Yogurt
Greek Yogurt: Just like traditional frozen yogurt, the base is, well—yogurt. Haha but I opted for Greek yogurt in this recipe to provide an extra boost of protein! It totally works and makes for a super rich and creamy texture!
Frozen Mango: Yes, it needs to be frozen! Especially if eating the frozen yogurt right away. If you are going to freeze it again after blending, like I have in this recipe, fresh mango should work too but it may not be quite as thick.
Honey: Since we’re using plain yogurt here, it needs a bit of sweetness to balance out the tanginess. I just love the combo of honey with mango, but you could also use maple syrup or another syrup consistency sweetener if you prefer!
Lime Juice: This is optional but I definitely recommend it! We tested it both with and without and something about the refreshing zing, just felt like the perfect compliment to bring out the tropical flavor of the mango and balance the sweetness.
How To Make Mango Frozen Greek Yogurt
Add the yogurt, mango, honey and lime juice to your food processor.
Blend until a thick frozen yogurt consistency is reached, using the food processor’s mixing attachment if you have it, or stopping the food processor and giving the contents a mix if ingredients get stuck.
Adjust to taste with more honey or lime if desired. You can eat as is at this stage but I prefer to freeze a bit for a more scoopable consistency
Transfer to a loaf pan and smooth the top with a spatula or back of a spoon. Freeze 3-4 hours or until desired consistency is reached.
Mistakes and Fixes
Too Thick: If the mixture is too thick to blend, add a splash of milk or water to help it along.
Not Blending Well: If your food processor has a mixing attachment, use that and mix as you blend. If not, stop the food processor occasionally to stir the mixture and ensure everything blends smoothly.
Nutritional Benefits (Nutrition by Addition)
This recipe is a perfect example of nutrition by addition – when I was doing my intuitive eating counselor certification, I loved learning about the principle of gentle nutrition. This is a common misconception with intuitive eating, that it neglects nutrition, but this is absolutely not the case!
Nutrition by addition leans on the gentle nutrition concept (one of the 10 principles of Intuitive Eating) focusing on what you can add to your plate instead of what you should cut out.
While we start with mindset and regaining trust in your body in my Make Food Feel Good Group Coaching Program, our clients always love it when we get to the nutrition component and learn how integrating nutrition can truly feel easy and stress free!
When it comes to nutrition by addition, I always share this important caveat— while I love the opportunity to give a nutritional boost where it fits, knowing it will help me feel full, and energized, and likely a lot less out of control around food, not every meal needs to be perfectly balanced!
Add when it feels good, but remove the pressure when it doesn’t, or when you just feel like that plain ol’ ice cream cone just as it is. The key is, these additions shouldn’t impact your satisfaction or enjoyment!
So how did we add nutrition in this recipe?
Greek Yogurt: I chose to use Greek yogurt as the base because it didn’t sacrifice on the flavor or enjoyment (in fact I find it provides an even better and more satisfying consistency for the base) while also providing a ton of nutritional benefits!
Greek yogurt is a nutritional powerhouse, providing about 25 grams of protein per cup. Protein helps keep you full and supports muscle maintenance and repair. It also contains probiotics, which are beneficial for gut health, and calcium, which is essential for strong bones and teeth.
Mango: Mangoes are not only delicious but also packed with nutrients. They are a great source of antioxidant vitamins A and C, which support immune function and skin health. Vitamin A is crucial for vision, while vitamin C acts as an antioxidant, protecting your cells from damage. Mangoes also provide dietary fiber, which aids in digestion and helps maintain a healthy gut.
Honey: Honey adds natural sweetness to the yogurt and contains antioxidants, which can help protect your body from inflammation. It also has antibacterial properties and can soothe a sore throat.
Lime Juice: Lime juice adds a refreshing zing and is another good source of vitamin C. This vitamin boosts the immune system, helps the body absorb iron, and promotes healthy skin. The acidity in lime juice can also enhance the flavors of other ingredients, making the dish even more delicious.
Recipe, Kitchen, & Time Saving Hacks
Prep Ahead Fresh Fruit: If you want to use fresh mango (or fresh fruit of choice!), pre-chop and freeze your fruit on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper in advance. This way, they’re ready to go whenever you want to whip up this frozen yogurt.
Batch Prep: Make a larger batch and keep it in the freezer for up to one month. It makes for an easy grab-and-go snack or dessert whenever the craving hits!
