Description

This delicious and nutritious 10-minute stovetop golden oats with apple recipe is the perfect way to start the day! Packed full of fiber, vitamins and antioxidants.


Ingredients

Scale
  • ⅓ cup quick oats

  • ⅔ cup vegetable stock, chicken stock or water

  • ½ tsp ground turmeric

  • Pinch of coarse salt and a generous sprinkle of freshly-cracked black pepper

  • 1 medium apple, cut into bite sized chunks

  • 1 oz (28g) sharp white cheddar, grated


Instructions

 

  1. In a small saucepan, combine the oats, vegetable stock or water, turmeric, and black pepper and bring to a boil over medium high heat. Reduce to a simmer and cook for 5 minutes, stirring frequently to prevent sticking to the pan.

  2. Once the oats have thickened and most of the liquid has evaporated, remove from heat and dish into a bowl.

  3. Top with the apple chunks, cheese, and more salt and pepper to taste. Enjoy!
