•Ad Do you like trying new things? Or does going outside your comfort zone give you that sinking feeling in your gut?

I used to be TERRIFIED of being on camera. Like truly painstakingly, made me want to cry uncomfortable. I would avoid it at all costs and make up excuses of why I couldn’t do certain projects if they involved being on camera.

But I knew in my gut that it was limiting me from the impact and work I wanted to do (I honestly for the longest time got nervous even going on Instagram stories!) When I got the opportunity to shoot a set of fun cooking demo commercials a few years ago I knew I had to take the leap.

Despite that same uncomfortable feeling in my gut, I knew there was some excitement mixed in there and it was time to push myself outside of my comfort zone. I was awkward and messy my first day on set, no idea what to do with my hands. Haha but over the next year I showed up every month for a year and shot these spots and eventually this major fear of mine became comfortable... and I even learned to love it!

Getting over this fear has allowed me to connect with all of you on such a deeper level! Whether through stories, webinars and workshops or through my programs and courses, I wouldn’t be able to do a lot of this work had I continued to shy away from getting out there and sharing my passion this way.

Thank you @activiacanada for challenging me to reminisce on the growth I’ve made all from trusting my gut!

As the holiday season ramps up, don't let guilt dr

As the holiday season ramps up, don't let guilt drive your choices or ability to care for yourself.

You don't need to "earn" your holiday meals by skipping lunch, or cutting back throughout the day.

In fact doing so will likely only lead to feeling out of control around food, and take away from the actual pleasure, joy, and experience of eating these delicious foods and the company you're in.

You also don't need to make up for it and "burn it off" the next day.

With that said, it doesn't have to be all or none, if movement feels good, go for it! If rest feels best, do that.

Ad Sharing a personal tale of failure here...that turned out well in the end!

@activiacanada has challenged me to share a story of a time it took guts to go after something I really wanted.

When I was 15 one of my favourite restaurants opened up in my hometown and I was dying to get a job there! I went to the job fair and was SO nervous that I literally stuttered and sweat my way through the entire interview. Needless to say, I did NOT get the job and I left feeling super down on myself.

After sitting in my disappointment for a bit, I hatched a plan. I got myself together the next day, put on a different outfit and went back again hoping they wouldn’t remember me. I was determined. I faked my way through feeling confident and ended up getting the job!! While this may seem like a silly highschool dream, it really shaped the way I look at failures moving forward —had I not had the guts then, I may not have had the guts to apply to the dietetics program a 2nd time when I didn’t get in the first.

I truly believe failures are our greatest opportunity for growth and learning. So while I talk alot about nutrition here and taking care of ourselves inside and out through lots of different tips and foods like @activiacanada probiotics yogurts, taking care of our wellbeing by trusting our gut and intuition is equally important!

Now please don’t leave me hanging! 😰 I would love to hear about a time you had the guts to go after something you wanted!

🍅 Easy peasy weeknight Salmon with Sundried Tomato Aioli. Get it in your belly!

This recipe has been a longtime family fave. I still remember the first time Momma Jang served it up for us. It is a literal flavor explosion in your mouth. I've revamped the recipe slightly over the years but it is as delish as ever and comes together so quickly! I'm talking 10 mins for the topping and under 15 mins to bake!

This was actually one of my first recipes up on the blog so some of you may recognize it! But I recently gave it a major revamp with some new snazzy pics (thank you @tracygiesz!) and a ton of helpful info throughout the blog to make sure it turns out perfectly in your kitchen!

Put this on the list this week for a stress free dinner on the table in minutes, or save it for a weekend treat, delish with roasted potatoes and zucchini or asparagus!
