I am a sauce girl through and through! There’s no light dipping or drizzle for me, I’m all about the flavor! Haha who’s with me?!

Greek yogurt is a staple in our house for everything from salad dressings, veggies dips, smoothies and one of my faves, healthifying cream soups (I used this trick for the creamy mushroom soup & creamy lentils in The 321 Method Meal Plans).

I don’t know how it’s taken me this long to come up with a greek yogurt ranch recipe but there is no turning back! If you’ve been looking for a healthy ranch recipe, look not further!

Is Greek yogurt Healthy?

Yes! Greek yogurt is packed with nutrition. My nutrition philosophy is all about more, not less. More flavor, more satisfaction and adding more nutritious foods, rather than focusing on what to cut out.

This is one of the reasons I love to use Greek yogurt as a swap. You still get that satisfying creaminess while also ADDING nutrients like protein, calcium and vitamin D!

Ranch Dressing Nutrition

I often hear clients say they feel like they should cut out, or cut back on, sauces and dressings. My philosophy is all about more not less! More flavor, more enjoyment, feeling more satisfied after a meal! Sauces are such a great way to do that – they are so quick to whip up and add instant flavor and varied texture (another important aspect of satiety!)

What I love about this Ranch Dressing is that it’s also adding some great nutrition to your plate!

Greek Yogurt Nutrition Benefits:

Protein:

Greek yogurt is an excellent source of protein containing more than 2 x the amount found in regular yogurt! (about 17g of protein per ¾ cup serving vs. 8g for regular yogurt)

  • Protein is Important for the formation of structures in our body such as our muscles, bone, teeth, skin, tendons, blood vessels, hair, nails and enzymes
  • Transports nutrients throughout our body

  • Plays a role in our cellular detoxification system, in the health of our joints and connective tissue, and in oxygen related metabolism
  • Studies show that garlic may play a role in reducing the risk of developing type two diabetes.

Description

This Greek Yogurt Ranch Dressing doubles as a healthy veggie dip and will take your salads and snacks to the next level! It is packed with flavor and high in protein, calcium, and vitamin D! Prep ahead and enjoy this easy homemade yogurt ranch dressing throughout the week.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup Greek yogurt (I like 5% for this)
  • Juice of half lemon (or 2 Tbsp vinegar)
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • ¼½ tsp dried dill
  • Salt to taste
  • 13 Tbsp water to thin out to desired consistency (skip this if using as a dip)
  • Optional – 2 Tbsp fresh chives, thinly sliced

Instructions

Combine all ingredients in a jar or airtight container. Shake until everything is well combined. That’s it! You’re ready to rock!

Notes

  • Water can be replaced for milk, buttermilk or milk alternative for a creamier texture
  • Skip the water altogether for a thicker consistency to be used as a dip
  • Garlic flavor can become more intense as the dressing sits. Keep this in mind if you’re tempted to add more! Haha
  • Dill and chives can be either dried or fresh. General rule of thumb is 2x the amount dried when using fresh!
